One of These is Not Like the Others: A Wondrous Waterfront Property
This Eye-Catching Lakeside Property is Truly One of a Kind
Owning a lakefront property is a dream come true for many. This project proves that even the most lovely properties have room for improvement! Let’s delve into the exquisite transformation…
Lakeview started out as a lovely lakeside property with a large deck, grassy lawn, and steps leading down to the sandy beach. It was functional, there was ample outdoor living space and exceptional views. But the homeowners had a vision for something more…
It started with gutting the backyard, excavating 10 feet into the hillside, transforming the submerged basement into a walkout, and then building a truly exceptional 5 tier outdoor living space.
Stepping out of the newly converted walk-out basement you find yourself in the covered outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill and hood, NatureKast cabinets, tongue and groove ceiling with built-in overhead heat, recessed lighting, and speaker system. Above is the second-story terrace, also covered with heat, lighting, a ceiling fan, a speaker system, and the best views in the house! The corrugated metal roof, stone veneer pillars, and cable railing give the terrace a modern finish.
As you leave the covered outdoor kitchen, the primary platforms continue with a dining area and seating wall around the patio’s built-in, gas-fueled fire pit. The surrounding retaining walls were built after the excavation of this large 24’ x 40’ platform and are beautifully landscaped with ferns, boxwood, and ornamental grasses. There are two sets of steps, one leading up the second-story terrace, and another leading down to the lake.
A small landing with a jacuzzi is the next stop on the walk down to the lake. Followed by a second large platform with sunbathing area and an exquisite granite bar for entertaining. The L-shaped bar has built-in beverage coolers, NatureKast cabinets, and a two-tier granite top cut from a beautifully marbled slab of granite. It sits in front of an artificial living wall, bringing lush greens into the vertical space behind the bar, with a maintenance-free alternative to a traditional living wall.
The final landing before you reach the sandy beach has hanging basket chairs, access to the dock, and a clever storage system built into the retaining walls. At 160 square feet, there is ample room to store kayaks, wakeboards, and more, neatly out of view.
With 5 unique and beautiful levels to choose from, the tricky part is choosing where to spend your time.
