Pinecrest’s Incredible Evolution from Empty Lot to Elegant Oasis
Welcome to our Pinecrest Build, a remarkable transformation from an empty lot of a new construction home to a gorgeous outdoor living space that embodies elegance, modern luxury, and meticulous craftsmanship. Before: A Blank Canvas Equals Endless Possibilities
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Pinecrest project was transforming a blank canvas into a dream outdoor living space. When we first arrived, the new construction home was framed, insulated, and awaiting siding. The lot itself was a barren construction site, a true blank slate. With a vision of elegance and functionality, we meticulously crafted every element of the landscape. While this was an exciting opportunity, it didn’t come without its challenges. Fitting a pool on the steeply sloping backyard was the largest obstacle. Fortunately, gunite pools are ideal for challenging properties as their concrete foundations can act as retaining walls. This is what makes gunite the optimal choice for waterfront properties and hillside properties with overlooks. To accommodate the surrounding arborvitae privacy hedge, we extended the leveled yard and added additional boulder retaining walls beyond the landscape beds.
Turning this untouched space into a breathtaking backyard oasis was a pleasure, and witnessing the transformation from a raw, undeveloped plot to a luxurious outdoor haven was incredibly fulfilling. Each step of the process, from laying the foundation to the final touches, brought us closer to realizing the homeowners' dream, and the result is nothing short of spectacular.

As you approach the property, the custom stonework and new walkway guide you to the grand entrance. The landscaping is a lush and vibrant mix of hydrangea, boxwood hedges, pachysandra, and columnar oaks, all perfectly complementing the stately Princeton Sentry Ginkgo trees that line the driveway. Thoughtfully placed landscape lighting illuminates the home, walkways and gardens, creating an inviting ambiance day and night. The lounge and outdoor dining area are illuminated by overhead market lights, creating a magical ambiance for alfresco dining. Beside the sunken lounge is a covered patio off the walk-out basement, the perfect place to enjoy the fresh air on rainy summer evenings.

At the far end of the pool, the custom pool house stands as a testament to both comfort and entertainment. Featuring a fireplace and a mounted all-weather TV, the pool house is designed for year-round enjoyment. The vaulted ceiling, finished with tongue-and-groove wood, recessed lighting, a ceiling fan, overhead heaters, and market lights, adds warmth and sophistication to this elegant structure.
Outdoor Kitchen: A Culinary Enthusiast's Dream
Just outside the covered pavilion, the outdoor kitchen is a culinary enthusiast's dream. Below the pavilion and sunken lounge, an inlay of Techo Bloc, Blu Smooth in Shale Grey, laid in a random pattern, adds depth and character, while the Onyx Black border provides a dynamic contrast. Beside the pool, chaise lounge chairs rest on paver inlays. With onyx black borders, cutaways and grass blocking, the poolside lounge is a striking blend of hardscape and landscape.

The pool's spillover and water line are finished with American Olean interlocking tiles in Blue Moon, creating a visually stunning and luxurious effect. The pool interior features Wet Edge Technologies, Signature Matrix pebble in Laguna Blue, offering a smooth surface and luminous blue color. The pool coping, made of Techo Bloc Raffinato in Greyed Nickel, provides a polished and elegant edge. The pavilion and outdoor kitchen, constructed with matching house brick and stucco, seamlessly blend with the home's architecture, adding a cohesive look to the entire property.
