West Crooked Lake
This Beautiful house sits atop a steeply sloping property on the shores of West Crooked Lake. The design team at Ventures worked hand in hand with their engineers to create this stunning, multi-terraced patio. Because of the challenging grade, spread footings were placed on 40-foot helical piers, and poured concrete walls were used for structural support. The house now sits atop the chicest terrace on the lake.
From head to toe, no detail was overlooked. The space begins with an expansive balcony off the rear of the house; composite decking, barbeque, dining area, and lounge make the balcony the perfect place to unwind while enjoying the view of the lake. As you descend to the lower covered deck you’ll find a jacuzzi, cafe table for lakeside breakfasts, and a gorgeous elongated firepit with an Adirondack chair lounge. Pine tongue and groove ceiling with recessed lighting and craftsman pillars create a cozy, modern lodge-inspired vibe for the second level. Beautiful stone veneer adds a timeless and natural feel to the multi-level patio.
Descending further you’ll pass a landing beautifully landscaped with Hydrangea and blue fescues before reaching a third lounge area and firepit. Just a few steps above the lake shore, this is the perfect place to relax after a sunset cruise or warm up after a late-night dip. The scent of lavender drifts past from the garden bed below and the entire terrace glows from the perfectly placed under coping lighting.
Seamlessly blending the natural surroundings with this spectacular terrace are two stone gardens running along either side of the property to direct runoff water. Ventures used elegant Oakville natural stone pavers in a random modular pattern for the walkway wrapping around the house and continuing throughout the terrace. Black powder-coated aluminum railings accentuate the retaining wall’s cultured stone veneer. A meticulously engineered, thoughtfully designed, and masterfully executed project all around.
